This Father’s Day, we’re turning the spotlight on a few incredible dads who are part of our Green Kiss community. Whether they’re formulating the products we love, supporting our business behind the scenes, or just keeping us laughing with their classic dad jokes, these men inspire us with their hearts, values, and commitment to healthier living. Here’s a little peek into their lives, their favourite Green Kiss products, and what being a Dad means to them.

Brett Bilon | President & Co-Founder, Plume Science

Brett has long been a staple in our Green Kiss circle. A warm, thoughtful, and endlessly dedicated family man, Brett is the co-founder of Plume Science, a company born from a deeply personal journey. After the birth of their first child, Plume Founder Lauren Bilon experienced significant hair and eyelash loss. While her lashes did regrow with a pharmaceutical product, the side effects were harsh: discoloured eyelids, burning skin, and blurred vision. When glue-on lashes caused a severe eye infection, Lauren knew there had to be a better way. Determined to create a safer, more natural solution, she teamed up with her biggest supporter, her husband Brett, and together, with the help of internationally renowned cosmetic chemist Irene Schnell, they pioneered a brand-new approach to lash growth. The result? A patented formula made with plant-based actives and zero synthetic ingredients: the Plume Lash & Brow Enhancing Serum. Recently, Brett's modern blended family grew in a beautiful way when he learned that he has another daughter! We are lucky to witness the joy he radiates in both his personal life and professional work.

What’s your favourite product at The Green Kiss?

The Plume Nourish & Define Brow Pencil. I use it on my brows and my beard to create better definition (and sneaky grey masking).

What does being a Dad mean to you?

Being a dad to me is all about providing, whether that’s resources, guidance, support, or comic relief with some of the world’s best (or worst?) dad jokes. I’m really grateful to have my family to provide for because it gives me an endless supply of purpose in life. It’s a lot of responsibility, but as a dad, I never have to question what I should do, my path is always in front of me.

Being a product maker in the healthy beauty industry is also a great honour. There’s still plenty of work to be done in this space, but when I see my teenage daughters choosing beauty products based on ingredients (instead of hype), I feel a deep sense of pride. Knowing that Plume is helping provide safer options for future generations fulfills me, not just as a brand founder, but as a father.

Robert Sarson | Glow Jar Beauty Local Delivery & Resident Hype Man

It’s no secret that The Green Kiss is a small, independent, family-run business, and we’re proud to grow alongside other local brands who share those same roots. One sweet detail most of you might not know: we place weekly orders from Victoria-based skincare brand Glow Jar Beauty, and every week, those deliveries are hand-delivered by none other than founder Jaime Pereira’s Dad, Robert Sarson. Robert (now also the unofficial Dad of The Green Kiss team) has become a bit of a good luck charm around here. His energy is infectious, the kind of presence that lights up the whole shop. We consider it a treat when we're on the floor the day he swings by, arms full of Glow Jar goodies, smile beaming. Since Jaime left her 9-to-5 corporate job to pursue her skincare dreams, Robert, who spent nearly four decades at TD Bank, has been right by her side. While he was hesitant at first, he’s now her biggest supporter and an essential part of the Glow Jar operation, handling local deliveries and helping her grow her business and community. He feels like family, and we’re so lucky he’s become part of ours.

What’s Robert’s favourite product at The Green Kiss?

Jaime tells us he’s currently stocked with the Gentle Gel Cleanser and Moisturizing Face Cream (well-loved favourites around here). Whether he’s using them in the right order or not is anyone’s guess, but one thing’s for sure: he’s incredibly proud of the business Jaime's built. He lights up when people ask him about Glow Jar and never misses a chance to chat with customers and vendors like they’re old friends.

What does being a Dad mean to Robert?

While we didn’t grill Robert too hard for a quote, we know this: he's a father who shows his love through action, delivering more than just packages but also unwavering support and encouragement for his daughter’s journey. Jaime says he passed down the "gift of the gab," and we’re pretty sure he also passed along that entrepreneurial spark.

Hayden Cyr | Owner, Ducks In A Row Digital Marketing | GK Tech Support Extraordinaire | Megan’s Partner in Life (& Music)

Around The Green Kiss, Hayden is the guy we call when something tech-related goes off the rails, and he always answers with calm, clarity, and a fix. Beyond his invaluable support to our team, Hayden is Megan’s partner in every sense of the word: a life co-pilot, an emotional support system for her small business journey, and a bandmate in their musical duo, The County Line. Lucky for us, he's also the owner of Ducks In A Row Digital Marketing, a Victoria-based company he acquired two years ago, which helps small businesses thrive online. It’s no surprise that he and Megan are passionate advocates for supporting local, it’s quite literally in everything they do. Born in Winnipeg and raised in Sidney, BC, Hayden is a proud father of two sons and a rescue pup named Daisy. After losing his own father to Alzheimer’s, Hayden has become deeply committed to a family-first life, one that values presence, connection, and making the most of every moment with his boys.

What’s your favourite product at The Green Kiss?

I've been using the Mulberry Green Tea Deodorant daily for many years now, it's a staple in my routine. I also love the 100% Pure Shower Gels. Their rich, moisturizing texture makes them a fantastic shaving cream alternative. I even fill our hand soap dispensers with them. The tropical scents are a hit with the kids, making handwashing a little more appealing! While we're talking Green Kiss, watching Megan grow GK from a tiny shop-within-a-shop into a nationally recognized, values-driven brand has been nothing short of incredible. Well, incredible, eye-opening, humbling, and inspiring, among other things. Since we teamed up in 2020, it’s grown into a true family business. I’ve taken on a bigger role, and the boys have jumped in with genuine excitement—helping with everything from packing sample kits to making deliveries (and occasionally snacking on a few cornstarch packing peanuts along the way). It’s been amazing to see all of us rally around the GK vision and support Megs in such a meaningful way.

What does being a Dad mean to you?

My thoughts on fatherhood: It’s carte blanche to be more present with everyone in the family, not just the kids. That title is a constant reminder of how lucky I am to be a role model, protector, comfort, friend, and guide. And I consider myself extra lucky because I have a partner with aligned values for raising little humans to be their best selves. That partnership is one of the things that helps me be the best dad I can be. I get to wake up to all of that every day, and honestly, it’s the best thing ever. It’s a mindset that keeps me grounded and helps me show up as my best self, for my incredible partner, for our kids, even for the houseplants and the weird furry creature (Daisy) who leaves carrot bits all over the floor.

Being part of The Green Kiss has also opened my eyes to the world of healthy beauty. It’s made me more aware of what goes on (and into) our kids’ bodies and hair. I’m grateful that we’re guiding them to think about health beyond just food and exercise.
