Welcome to our blog!

They say that good things take time. My belief is that in small business, this could not ring truer.  It’s been over 5 years now since I started The Green Kiss and about 4.5 since I launched our original website. If you too are an entrepreneur, then I know you can relate to what I am about to say. Anything to do with implementing technology, systems, or new platforms in your business will always take longer than you originally plan for. Can I get an amen?

And luckily for me, as I have become more comfortable with the daily stresses of having a small business, the angst that comes with not having something done when you originally planned for has lessened. You learn to roll with things a heck of a lot more than you probably originally did.

The Green Kiss TeamSince writing my original business plan, a blog component to our website has always been on the to-do list. In fact, it was written on that to-do list…..oh….6 years ago?! The thing is though, and the ‘hiccup’ around it, is that I never wanted to have a blog just for the sake of ‘having a blog’. I was never going to start one with the intention of creating ‘fluff’ content for the sole purpose of jam packing keywords into articles for SEO support. For those of you who are not familiar with that, a LOT of blogs on the internet are created for that reason alone. They are noise. And I hate noise. You see, this blog, or ‘journal’ as some may like to call it, was never going to be launched without heart, purpose, and authenticity. That was important because, as you know, that is what this brand is all about.

If you have ever received an email from me, or any of our team members, you will notice that it is signed “sealed with a green kiss”. That is our commitment to authenticity, and so, it is only fitting that our new blog is called just that. Think of it as ‘The Green Kiss Classroom’ meets your best friends kitchen table, the place where we take what we do in-store, and share with all of you out there! From skin care, makeup hacks and green beauty education from our team of beauty pros to women’s health and happiness issues from our collaborators. And personally, I have been craving an outlet to share some of my entrepreneurial experiences with you too, so you’ll get a little dose of that (mixed in with some of the shocking layers we uncover on the daily about the conventional beauty world).

Basically, if you were a fly on the wall at our beauty bar in Victoria, this blog is a written account of what you hear about on the daily: Lauren in a #maketheswitch consultation with a new customer, Carly in a follow-up appointment with a long-term client about the current health of her skin, Ellie from Whole Happy running in to drop off some supplements for our staff, and me running down from my office in a tizzy because I've discovered something new to share with the staff and everyone. It’ll be like you are right there with us, and we can’t wait!

So... smart, savvy, heart on your sleeve you... welcome to our new online community.
